Summary:

MCAER PG CET 2022 final lists of eligible and ineligible candidates have been released on April 21. The provisional lists were released on April 6 and candidates could submit grievances from April 7 to April 13. In the provisional lists, as many as 10,732 candidates were considered provisionally eligible whereas 1,684 candidates were considered non-eligible by MAUEB. However, in the final list, the total number of eligible and ineligible candidates are 10,793 and 1,622 respectively.  The MCAER PG CET 2022 admit card will be released on June 3. The exam will be conducted in a paper-pencil based mode for a window of three days, from June 11 to June 13. The exam will be conducted in two slots, from 10 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 5 pm. The answer keys of MCAER PG CET 2022 will be conducted on June 20 and the result will be declared on June 27. 

What is the MCAER CET?

MCAER PG CET is conducted by Maharashtra Agriculture Universities Examination Board (MAUEB) to shortlist aspirants for admission in PG level courses including Master of Science (MSc), Master of Engineering and Technology (MTech) and Master of Fisheries Science (MFSc) offered at State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) in Maharashtra. A state-level entrance exam, the Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research Common Entrance Test (MCAER CET) is conducted in a paper-pencil based mode. Approximately 10,000 candidates appear for the exam every year.  

Important: Earlier, MCAER CET was conducted to offer admission to aspirants in professional degree courses offered at the UG level like- BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BSc (Hons) Horticulture, BSc (Hons) Forestry, BFSc, BTech (Agricultural Engineering), BTech (Food Technology), BSc (Hons)Community Science and BTech (Biotechnology) in Agricultural. But now admission in these courses is offered on the basis of an aspirant’s performance in MHT CET/ JEE/ NEET/ ICAR AIEEA.

Candidates had to fill their MCAER CET 2022 application form online on the official website of the exam. To duly fill the application form for the MCAER PG CET exam, candidates had to upload their photograph as well as pay their application fee online by using Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. After successful submission of the MCAER PG CET 2022 application form, candidates had to take a printout of the application confirmation or acknowledgement page. 

MCAER PG CET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

To take the MCAER PG CET exam, candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates should have completed their graduation degree of at least three years duration in the relevant subject to be eligible for MCAER CET 2022.
  • They should have secured at least 55 per cent marks or a 5.5 CGPA score on a scale of 10 in their bachelor's degree if belonging to the open category.
  • In case of reserved categories including, Schedule Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Vimukta Jati (A) (VJ-a), Nomadic Tribes (B) NT-b), Nomadic Tribes (C) (NT-c), Nomadic Tribes (D) (NT-d), Other backward class (OBC), Special Backward Category (SBC), socially and educationally backward class (SEBC), Economically weaker section(EWS) and Physically Handicapped (PH), the candidates should have secured at least 50 per cent marks or 5.0 CGPA score on a scale of 10 in aggregate of all subjects. 
  • Candidates in the final year of their graduation degree are also eligible to apply for MCAER PG CET 2022.

MUAEB will prepare the final merit list of MCAER CET 2022 based on 70 per cent marks secured by a candidate in the MCAER CET exam and, the remaining 30 per cent marks from CGPA score in the qualifying degree examination.

MCAER PG CET 2022 Test Centres

MCAER PG CET 2022 will be conducted in 17 centres across Maharashtra. MAUEB has released the list of MCAER CET 2022 test centres. The exam papers or subjects will vary according to test centres. Candidates need to check whether their preferred centre would conduct the paper they are applying for while filling out the application form and selecting their MCAER PG CET 2022 centre preference. Once allotted, a request to change the exam centre will not be entertained.

MCAER PG CET 2022 Syllabus

The MCAER PG CET 2022 syllabus has been released by the exam authorities. The syllabus brings the topics covered under each subject or paper along with the weightage given. According to the exam conducting body, 80 per cent of questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of the main degree/stream and 20 per cent from the syllabi of other eligible degrees/streams.

MCAER PG CET 2022 Pattern

As per the MCAER PG CET 2022 exam pattern, it is a paper-pencil based test of two hours duration. The total number of questions in MCAER PG CET 2022 is 100, each carrying one mark. There is no negative marking scheme. The questions are multiple-choice type wherein there are four answer options. The medium or the language of the question paper will be English. 

MCAER PG CET 2022 Admit Card

Aspirants will be able to download the MCAER PG CET 2022 admit card from the official website of the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research by filling in details such as Application Number and Date of Birth. Admit card is the mandatory document to be carried at the exam centre along with the photo identity card, without which candidates will not be allowed entry to the exam centre. The admit card of MCAER PG CET 2022 will carry information on the exam paper, schedule, venue and guidelines. The hall ticket will also carry candidates' details such as name, Roll Number, photo, signature and contact details. 

MCAER PG CET 2022 Answer Key

The MCAER PG CET 2022 answer key will be released by the exam officials on June 27 on the official website. Candidates will be able to download the answer keys of MCAER PF CET 2022 by logging in with their registration credentials. With the help of the answer keys, they can calculate the estimated score and gauge their chance of admission. On the other hand, they will also be able to challenge the answer keys in case they find any discrepancy. 

MCAER PG CET 2022 Result

The result of MCAER PG CET 2022 will be declared on June 27 on the official website. The exam authorities will release the result of MCAER PG CET 2022 in the formof merit list and also as scorecard. Candidates can download the scorecard by logging in to the official website through their registration credentials. The scorecard has to be preserved by the candidates till the admission process is complete.

MCAER PG CET 2022 Cutoff

The cut-off marks of MCAER CET 2022 will be released on the official website of the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER). The cutoff marks are the minimum marks required in each of the streams to qualify for the examination. Moreover, the participating colleges of MCAER PG CET 2022 will also publish their category-wise cut off marks. 

MCAER PG CET 2022 Counselling

MCAER PG CET counselling 2022 schedule and process will be released on the official website of the Common Entrance Test for the admissions. All candidates whose names are displayed in the MCAER merit list will need to take part in the counselling round for admission. There will be three rounds of counselling and the number of rounds may change depending on the number of vacant seats. In this round, candidates will have to be present at the designated counselling centre or venue and get the requisite documents verified.
